FAIRFIELD BY MARRIOTT® HOTEL NOW OPEN IN MADISON, INDIANA AS THE FIRST MARRIOTT HOTEL IN THE AREA

The Hotel Opens after a complete gut of the old Cotton Mill building that was around since 1884.

Madison, IN – July 29, 2021 – The 85-room Fairfield by Marriott in Madison Indiana opened today with a new décor that provides guests with a feeling of warmth and calm while traveling. Located at 108 St Michaels Ave, the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Madison will operate as a Marriott franchise, managed by Dora Hospitality of Indianapolis Indiana.

“In addition to Madison’s natural beauty and history, the old Cotton Mill was prime for redevelopment for many years.  Thanks to support from the local city council as well as the historic preservation society, our group was finally able to make our vision of the hotel come to life,” said Vincent Dora, President of Dora Hospitality. “We are so excited to contribute to the growth of this treasured city with its first Marriott hotel.”

The management team at the property is led by General Manager Chris Baruxes, who has over a decade of hospitality management experience. Chris came from a highly successful extended stay property taking on multiple projects.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison offers guests convenient access to Historic downtown Madison, spectacular views of nearby Clifty Falls, as well as panoramic views of the Ohio River.  Madison is one of the best-preserved river towns in the Midwest with festivals and events along the river throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

“Delivering both function and comfort, the design and décor elevate the brand, and the Fairfield Madison truly has set a new high standard for hotels throughout the Midwest,” said Jerry Eggleton, vice president at Dora Hospitality. “Fairfield by Marriott provides an easy, positive and productive travel experience, as well as the promise of consistent and reliable service at an exceptional value. The Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Madison is a stunning example of the brand’s contemporary look and feel, while also blending in seamlessly with the historical notes from the conversion of the old Cotton Mill building and we are pleased to introduce Fairfield by Marriott hotels in the Madison area.”

Other highlights for this particular hotel include an outstanding bar for locals and guests called the “1884” (referencing the original construction date of the old Cotton Mill) that incorporates a lot of the old bricks and materials from the original building.  There are outdoor patios on both sides of the building that will allow guests to enjoy the views of mighty Ohio River or the quiet patio and firepit in the back of the hotel.  The Fairfield Madison also has several flexible options for special events with a large meeting space, 2 smaller boardrooms, and a large pre-function space in the hotel, all with state of the art AV equipment.  Additionally, the patio space out back and large lawn in the front of the building facing the Ohio River can be used to host events, meetings, or small conferences.  In order to provide top notch quality food, the Madison hotel has partnered with Hanover college for all catering needs.

The new guestroom design is impactful, unique and addresses the functional needs of the Fairfield guest for a seamless experience. The room was designed with the modern traveler’s needs to stay productive on the road in mind without overcomplicating the guestroom. Each room features a modern lounge chair, serving as both functional and comfortable to either work or relax in. The guestrooms also feature an ergonomic workstation, a comfortable couch, refrigerator, coffeemaker and microwave.  The artwork throughout the hotel takes center stage with many of the images curated with the help of the Jefferson County Public Library.  The hotel is proud to display local photographs taken throughout Madison’s deep history.

“I am extremely honored for the opportunity to join such a highly recognized and reputable hospitality management team,” said Chris Baruxes, general manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison. “Our hotel will provide the highest level of customer service to our guests and our team looks forward to being an active business partner in the Madison community.”

Additional hotel amenities include a fitness center, guest laundry facility, complimentary Wi-Fi, and complimentary hot breakfast, featuring oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles and other healthy items, such as fruit, yogurt, and whole grain cereals and breads is also available.
